The issue of marriage forms and licenses can often be confusing. Let us help shed some light on the subject. There are four different marriage related documents we offer and/or assist with. They are as follows:

Las Vegas Marriage License

This license must be obtained prior to your Las Vegas wedding ceremony in order for your marriage to be legally recognized.

Certified Las Vegas Marriage Certificate

This document is required by Social Security for name changes, INS (Immigration & Naturalization Service) or any adoption services and must be obtained after your Las Vegas wedding ceremony.

Certified Las Vegas Marriage License

This license is required to legally change your name. It is convenient to obtain this form at the time you apply for your Las Vegas marriage license.

Apostille

This document is for Non-U.S. or Foreign citizens and is accepted as Las Vegas proof of Marriage by most countries and must be obtained after your Las Vegas Wedding Ceremony.

I'm still confused. So which forms do I need?
Everybody (U.S. and foreign citizens) will need the first 3 forms.
  1. Las Vegas Marriage License
  2. Certified Las Vegas Marriage Certificate
  3. Certified Las Vegas Marriage License

Non-U.S. or foreign citizens will most likely need to obtain form 5. Apostille. However, we suggest you check with your local officials for special documents that may be needed to ensure the marriage will be recognized in their country.
